HIPS

High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a polystyrene sheet with added impact resistance. It is one of the most tolerant materials available for thermoforming applications, possessing a wide heat forming temperature window. It is versatile, lightweight and inexpensive.

Processing instructions for ABS

HIPS can be easily screen or UV digitally printed and is widely used for displays either in 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional parts. Due to its ease of thermoforming and heat bending, HIPS is often used for internal displays.

We would not recommend HIPS for external applications.

HIPS can be, dependent on thickness, cut by hand, guillotined, sawn with jigsaws, circular saws or flatbed saws.

Gluing can be achieved and we would recommend you discuss with your local Amari sales office for the most compatible adhesive.
