Amari Plastics | ABS

ABS plastic sheets are a combination of three different materials, Acrylonitrile, Butadiene and Styrene each giving its own set of useful properties. ABS is a low cost plastic which has excellent impact resistance.

It is easy to machine and fabricate making it a versatile material that can be used in a wide range of applications.

Processing instructions for ABS

Thermoformed products may be machined, riveted, punched, sheared, cemented, laminated, embossed or painted. Although ABS plastics process easily and exhibit excellent moldability, they are generally more difficult flowing than the modified styrene’s and higher processing temperatures are used. The surface appearance of molded articles is excellent and buffing may not be necessary.

It can be screen or UV digitally printed. However, you should test a small piece first to ensure the pattern on the sheet does not distort your image. The acrylic capped version can be used for exterior applications but we would not recommend extended exposure as the material can become brittle.

ABS sheets can be cut on guillotines, jigsaws, band saws , circular saws and , dependent on thickness, wall and flatbed saws.

Gluing can be achieved and we would recommend you discuss with your local Amari sales office for the most compatible adhesive.
