UHMW PE1000 - Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene

Optimum performance

Industrial plastic UHMW PE1000 (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a self-lubricating thermoplastic material with high abrasion and wear resistance.

It is highly resistant to chemicals and solvents (with the exception of oxidising acids) and has one of the lowest coefficients of friction of all engineering plastics in our range.

UHMW PE1000 has very low moisture absorption, excellent electrical and dielectric properties and high UV resistance. UHMW PE1000 does not perform well when exposed to temperatures above +120°C, and can become brittle at temperatures below -150°C.  Its waxy surface also makes bonding difficult.

What are the main technical properties of UHMW PE1000? (tbc)

UHMW PE1000 is a very tough and strong material with a temperature range of up to 80 degrees. The black version is UV-resistant and therefore suitable for permanent outdoor applications.

The chemical resistance and food suitability make UHMW PE1000 one of the most widely used plastics.

UHMW PE1000 is excellent to weld and suitable for storage tanks and piping.

How to identify UHMW PE1000? (tbc)

UHMW PE1000 is a fairly soft plastic, which makes it scratch-sensitive. When you light UHMW PE1000 you can identify the material by the blue flame, yellow top and white smoke.

The specific gravity is less than 1, which makes UHMW PE1000 float.

LubX® CV - low-friction sliding material
The material has exceptional sliding properties and is specially developed for conveyors and systems that are operated at higher speeds and compressive loads, resulting in higher productivity.  It is food-safe in compliance with FDA and EU 10/2011.

Polystone® M - tough with good sliding properties
A high-impact strength moulded sheet with good mechanical properties. It has a high resistance to wear and abrasion and a low coefficient of friction.

Polystone® MR - Polystone® M with a percentage of repro content

Polystone® MR AST - Polystone® MR with anti-static properties
Its permanent anti-static properties reduce dust and deposits.
