SAN - Styrene Acrylonitrile

Excellent resistance against water and chemical absorption

SAN (Styrene Acrylonitrile) is a copolymer plastic consisting of Acrylonitrile and Styrene. SAN is widely used instead of Polystyrene due to its superior thermal resistance.

It is typically made with 70 to 80% Styrene and 20 to 30% Acrylonitrile. A higher percentage of Acrylonitrile content would improve the plastic's mechanical and chemical properties, but it would cause a yellow tint, which might not be ideal for certain applications.
