HDPE 300 is a crystalline thermoplastic and belongs to the group of polyolefins. The well-known black version of HDPE 300 pipe is resistant to sunlight (UV radiation) and other weather influences and can therefore be used permanently outdoors. HDPE 300 does not absorb moisture, is moisture repellent and can be used at temperatures from -30°C to +80°C.
The plastic Polyethylene has an apolar surface and can therefore not be glued. Thanks to its excellent price-quality ratio, HDPE 300 is one of the most widely used plastics in the industry.
HDPE 300 is Polyethylene with a molecular weight between 930 to 970 kg/m3 and is therefore known as High Density Polyethylene.

HDPE 300 welding
HDPE 300 can be easily welded. Firstly, the material is suitable for infrared welding. In addition, HDPE 300 is good for wire welding. The air volume (L/min) is 45-55, the welding air Temp. 300-340ºC (measured approx. 5mm in the welding nozzle) the welding speed cm/min is 25-35. HDPE 300 is also good for extrusion welding. The welding parameters here are: air volume (L/min) 300, welding air Temp. 210-230ºC and the welding mass Temp. 250-300ºC.
PE100-RC is easy to electroweld and PE100/PE100-RC are also very suitable for socket welding/mirror welding.
What are the main technical properties of HDPE 300?
HDPE 300 is a very tough and strong material with a temperature range of up to 80 degrees. The black version is UV-resistant and therefore suitable for permanent outdoor applications.
The chemical resistance and food suitability make HDPE 300 one of the most widely used plastics.
HDPE 300 is excellent to weld and suitable for storage tanks and piping.
How to identify HDPE 300
HDPE 300 is a fairly soft plastic, which makes it scratch-sensitive. When you ignite HDPE 300 you can identify the material by the blue flame, yellow top and white smoke.
The specific gravity is less than 1, which makes HDPE 300 float.

HDPE 300 Industrial Plastics
Play-Tec® - for play areas
A long-lasting, low-maintenance material that’s highly resistant to rain, sun, wind and dirt, with little to no fading.
Polystone G® - for numerous applications
Suitable for a wide range of industrial applications and approved in many countries for chemical engineering and tank building.
Polystone G® CubX® - for tank construction
A unique cross-ribbed twinwall sheet with internal cubiform cell structure. Its interior consists of a homogeneous, orthogonal grid pattern welded on the outside to two sheets, which form the surface of the sheet. It is resistant to stress cracking and UV light and suitable for outdoor use.
HDPE 300 Engineering Plastics
The slightly greasy feeling HDPE 300 is moisture repellent and UV and weather resistant due to the addition of soot (black colour). Due to the excellent price/performance ratio, PE with PVC and PP is the most widely used plastic in the industry.
In addition, HDPE 300 is approved for contact with food, which is essential in, for example, the canning industry, food, meat and fish processing plants or other applications where non-toxic behaviour, environment and hygiene are important.
We have extensive certificates (BGA and FDA). You can request this by contacting us.
